The course takes you step by step through exactly what you need to do - starting with getting set up, navigating the model and creating the existing space. You'll learn the tools as you work through the project, with opportunities to pause and practise along the way.

This course is for café owners, aspiring café owners, and interior design students or designers who want a practical hands on way to learn to model a café in SketchUp. Whether you’re exploring your own café idea or building your modelling skills, you can follow the supplied project or work with your own space. We start with the basics, so you don’t need to be a SketchUp expert.

No. You can follow the supplied course project, or apply the steps to your own space. If you have an existing tenancy or a site you're thinking of taking, the measuring lesson covers the information you'll need to get started.

You’ll work towards a 3D café concept, including the existing space, counters, equipment, furniture and finishes. You’ll also learn to save useful views and export images and plans to discuss your ideas.

No. You can work through it at your own pace. “In a day” describes the focused project approach. Allow time alongside the videos to practise; your progress will depend on your experience and the complexity of your space.

The course demonstrates SketchUp for Web.

The course helps you develop and communicate a café concept. It does not produce a complete construction drawing package or replace site-specific advice about approvals, accessibility, services or building requirements.
